Tomorrow I am doing a training on the Treasures Supplement that I created over the summer. Most of the supplemental suggestions fall into the bottom two tiers of Bloom’s Taxonomy (Remember and Understand). I want to show teachers that just because these activities help students practice basic skills and remember and understand, there are SO many more options that will reach the higher levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy! I created the Bloomin’ Peacock to show teachers the Blooms Taxonomy break down and the Bloomin’ digital Peacock that shows how the digital tools in the supplement break down.
Below are the tools listed in my Bloomin’ Digital Peacock

I have received a lot of requests and DM’s for the Bloomin’ Peacock on posters (I’m still working on these), mugs, etc. For those of you who asked, here it is:
Wow! This is FANTASTIC!!! I am going to print out your peacocks and post them next to my desk at school. WOW!
Kelly
This is so clever & brilliant – thx so much for sharing it.
I love this!! I have seen a few people attempt this, but this is spot on. Well done, thank you for creating and especially for sharing 🙂
What a great way to show that there are opportunities for higher order thinking skills in so many wonderful web tools!
Ditto. So simple, so useful, so inspiring. I suspect we will be seeing many, many beautiful peacocks. Thank you.
Just wonderful! This is by far the best representation of Bloom’s I’ve seen.
That is very cool Kelly. Thanks for sharing with us. Sometimes the visual aspect helps people to “get it”.
I love the Blooming Peacocks and all the great links you have given for the tools we can use with our students. I find I’m moving our students more and more into the “Create” tools which must be good!
Love the graphic and the accompanying list of links to access! Thanks so much for posting!
Way too cool!
I am completely envious of your imagination and creativity. I believe this post was an ‘inception’ moment as I swear I wanted to make something as cool as this, but it never eventuated.
Well done, beautifully thought out and I will be sharing them with my school and any presentation I ever do.
May I link this to my website or print it out?
VERY COOL! This would be a great poster for your store!
Yes it would…I’ll look into that 🙂
Yes to both, thank you Samuel, your comment means a lot!
I would say that is a great thing Maggie! Being creative with knowledge brings it to a whole new level and helps us to discover new learning along the way.
That is my hope, would love for everyone to “get it”!
Thank you Paula, I appreciate the high praise!
Thank you, it is always nerve wracking for me to put something so personally created on my blog…when I am pointing out others work, I don’t feel bad if others don’t like it!
Glad you like it Carol!
This is hardcore awesome! You are the best. I’m passing this along.
This is fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
beautiful design!great minds think alike!thanks for sharing such a mind!
i am a junior form inner mongolia university, recently extend my vercabulary world.your work really helps me a lot!
thanks a again!
Thank you for highlighting ReadWriteThink.org. We are very proud of what we have to offer on the site. If you are interested, we pay educators in the field for their lesson plan and teaching ideas. Please let me know if you would like more information!
Don’t forget memorize.com:) One thing missing from a lot of people’s lists of sites they use is a tool to make learning easy, IMO.
Great to know, thank you Lisa.
Thanks dude, don’t know that I have ever made anything that anyone described as hardcore awesome. #flattered
Great post… extremely creative and informative. I will certainly be bookmarking this to Diigo. Thanks
What a great and creative way to illustrate Bloom’s taxonomy! I LOVE IT! I use cameroid.com for my PC users who don’t have Photobooth.
Kelly, this is awesome! I plan on printing it and referring to it when I plan. What does make me sad is that there is a large majority of these tools that are blocked on my district’s network. Oh well, I guess I have to work with what I have.
How did your presentation go?
Kelly- This is AWESOME!! I had been wanting to do something similar to keep track of apps I planned to use this year. This will be a great reference tool as I plan lessons. Definitely passing along to my homeschooling friends.
Happy Day!
I would really like to use your image along with your links on my Elementary Home Page (with proper credits and links to your site of course). Would you be alright with me doing so?
Yes, I am happy to allow you to use my image and will appreciate the links back and proper credit. Thanks for checking!
Thank you Ashley, I consider that very high praise!
The presentation went well, thank you for asking Robin! It was fun to see my colleagues again and teach them Technology Tuesday style in my old classroom.
Thank you so much Kristina! That is disappointing, I wish there was a way to find out what was blocked in each school district, it seems to vary so much from school to school. Last year my school had no trouble getting to Zimmer Twins but when I went to do training, they had it blocked. Very disappointing!
Thanks for letting us know about cameroid.com, I never know what the best PC options are…I am so steeped in Mac I haven’t used a PC in years!
Thank you Malcolm, I appreciate the comment and the bookmark!
Kelly,
This could earn you the Pulitzer Prize for blogging. Great idea to organize sites this way.
You are unbelievably gifted! What an amazing way to interpret and present Bloom’s.
Judith, thank you for the kind words!
A Pulitzer prize for blogging, now that would be something! thanks Buzz!
http://www.SillyWebcam.com has fun things to do with your web cam without installing any software (snap pics, video FX, etc).
Thanks for the suggestion!
Can I please use your Bloomin Peacock image along with your links as part of a task in a uni course? I’d give credit and link to your site. The aim of the task is to generate discussion around the use of ICTs.
@Jacqui- My bloomin’ images are available for purchase ($0.99) in my iLearn Technology Store. Click on the Store tab at the top of any screen to get there.
Hi I’m a real newbie. I can see your cups and clothing but not the image on its own.
Hi Jacqui, no problem, at the top of my site is a store link. The Bloomin’ Peacock posters are under the Lesson Plans section. I’ll attach the link here as well. http://ilearntechnology.com/?page_id=2875 When you purchase a digital download, you will be redirected to a page with a link for you to download from. You should also receive an email (although these occasionally end up in a spam or junk folder.)
